HMRC is reaching out to accounting firms and agents to support their transition and readiness for Making Tax Digital (MTD). A new form has been launched to help HMRC identify which firms wish to take part in engagement and testing activities designed to support MTD implementation.
About the Initiative
Agents are encouraged to complete a short form to express their interest in working directly with HMRC as part of the MTD readiness and testing process. HMRC’s goal is to collaborate with firms, understand their current preparedness, and offer support where needed.
Completing the form takes approximately two minutes, and agents will be asked to:
Give permission for HMRC to contact them via email
Indicate how many clients they currently have for testing and mandation registrations
Confirm whether they would like to take part in discussions with HMRC regarding MTD readiness and testing
You can access the form directly here:

Access Requirements
To complete the form, agents will need to sign in using the Government Gateway ID and password linked to their Agent Services Account (ASA).
If your firm does not yet have an ASA, you can still complete the expression of interest form using the credentials for your existing HMRC online services for agents account — simply enter your contact details manually when prompted.
What Happens Next
Once the form is submitted, HMRC will review your responses and prioritise contact based on the information provided. Agents managing a higher volume of clients or expressing a greater need for readiness assistance may receive priority for follow-up.
Potential engagement opportunities include:
Additional information and updates via email
Virtual Peer Group Sessions (PGS) hosted through Microsoft Teams
One-to-one support discussions (where applicable)
Verify Legitimacy
Agents can verify the authenticity of this service via the official GOV.UK guidance:

Why This Matters
As MTD continues to expand, early engagement helps ensure your firm and clients are fully prepared for digital record-keeping and submission requirements. This is also an opportunity to share feedback directly with HMRC and shape the ongoing development of MTD services.
