Companies House Login Changes – GOV.UK One Login from 13 October 2025

What’s Changing

From 13 October 2025, users will no longer be able to access Companies House WebFiling using the existing login methods, such as the Presenter ID.

Instead, all users will be required to sign in using a GOV.UK One Login.

This change is part of the government’s initiative to unify and strengthen login security across its online services.

Upon your first sign-in after this date, you will be redirected to connect your existing WebFiling account to your GOV.UK One Login.

If you don’t yet have a GOV.UK One Login, you’ll be guided through the process to create one.

Does the GOV.UK One Login change affect software filing?

No — the switch to GOV.UK One Login only applies to Companies House WebFiling accounts (the manual, browser-based filing portal).

If you currently file documents via Capium or another Companies House-integrated software, you do not need to switch to GOV.UK One Login.

Software filing uses API credentials (the Presenter ID, Presenter Authentication Code, and Company Authentication Code) that are separate from WebFiling logins.
These credentials remain valid and continue to be used for automated filings via software integrations.
