This guide explains how to apply and remove CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) deductions within the Books section of Capium 365.

Note: Books section is only available for individuals and sole traders who are not registered for VAT. For customers above the VAT threshold or other entities (i.e. Limited Companies and Partnerships) the software will post the invoices and purchases directly to the Bookkeeping module.

Navigation: Capium 365 > Books


Adding a CIS Deduction

Use this option to apply a CIS deduction percentage to a transaction you’ve already added to your Books section.


Steps:

  1. Go to Capium 365 > Books.

  2. Find the relevant transaction by scrolling, filtering, or using the search bar.

  3. Hover over the transaction.

  4. Click the ‘+’ icon on the right-hand side.

  5. Enter the CIS deduction percentage.

  6. Click Save.

Removing a CIS Deduction

If you’ve applied a CIS deduction by mistake or need to remove it, follow these steps.

Steps:

  1. Go to Capium 365 > Books.

  2. Find the transaction using scroll, filter, or search.

  3. Hover over the transaction.

  4. Click the three dots (⋮) on the right-hand side.

  5. Select Delete to remove the CIS deduction.

Adding a Transaction

Before applying CIS deductions, ensure your transactions are added to the Books section. Transactions can be added manually, via upload, or through a bank feed.
