Companies House is implementing mandatory identity verification checks for individuals registering or managing UK companies, including directors, people with significant control (PSCs), and those filing information on behalf of a company.
The new Biometric verification feature is now available through Capium, in partnership with Veriphy. This integration allows accountants to seamlessly complete biometric checks within the Capium platform, enhancing security and streamlining compliance workflows.
Biometric Check
Navigation: My Admin > My Firm > AML
To perform a Biometric check click on 'Perform Check' then 'Biometric Check' as shown on the picture below.
You will now be directed to the Biometric Check page, where you can input either your own details or your client's to begin the verification process.
You will now need to enter the mandatory information into the system:
- Gender
- Title
- First Name
- Surname
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
- UK Mobile Number
If you don't have a reference number you can click on 'I don't wish to enter a reference'.
Once all mandatory personal details have been entered into the system, click ‘Perform Check’. This will generate and send an Email/SMS to the appropriate recipient, either yourself or your client, based on whose information was provided for the biometric verification.

You or your client will now receive an Email/SMS from Veriphy to complete an identity verification check on behalf of Veriphy.
This step requires you to:
- Be in a well-lit room
- Scan or upload an identity document, avoiding glare and reflections
- Take a selfie
To do this click on 'here' in the Email or the link in your SMS.
